Dr. Saranjeev S. Lalh

Dr. Lalh received his Dental degree from University of Alberta in 1994 and his Medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 2008.  He completed two years of General Surgery training followed by completion of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program from Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh in 2001.   Dr. Lalh received his Fellowship status of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in 2002.

Dr. Lalh then went on to pursue academics by becoming the Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Co-Director of the Dental Implant Clinic at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry from 2001 to 2007. He continues teaching as a Clinical Professor. Along with his academic responsibilities, he maintains a busy surgical practice.  He founded Renew Oral & Facial Surgical Centre, a private certified non-hospital surgical centre in 2005.  He devotes his clinical practice more to implant surgery, facial reconstructive and orthognathic surgery, and cosmetic facial plastic surgery.

He has been appointed the Oral and Maxillofacial Reconstruction Surgeon at the internationally recognized clinical and research Institute for Reconstructive Sciences in Medicine (iRSM) at the Misericordia Hospital and Covenant Health, dealing with reconstruction of patients with head and neck cancer.  Dr. Lalh also continues to conduct evidence-based research through the University of Alberta and has had the opportunity to lecture extensively both nationally and internationally on various surgical topics. His special interest is using new technological advances in digital imaging for reconstructive surgical procedures and on non-surgical and surgical aspects of cosmetic facial surgery.

Dr. Lalh participated on the Cosmetic Committee of the ADA&C to help develop the standards for practice and guide for core competency for Facial Esthetic Therapies and Adjunctive Procedure.  Subsequently he then ventured into developing a University based education curriculum for facial esthetics that is based on a multidisciplinary team approach for all health professionals such as physicians, nurses, and dentists.   He and his team have launched courses in Neuromodulators and Facial Fillers over the last several years that are all approved and accredited and teach in Alberta, British Columbia and Las Vegas and attract participants from all over North and South America. These courses are conducted through the continuing education department at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta

Dr. Saranjeev Lalh is a member of many professional organizations.    He is involved in various healthcare committees in the Alberta Health Services in the Edmonton Zone.  He is currently the Site Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal Alexandra hospital.  He previously was the on the Medical Staff Association Committee and the Zone Medical Staff Association.  Nationally, he was previously involved in the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Cosmetic Surgery Special Interest Group, and the Past President of the CAOMS Foundation.

On a personal note, Dr. Lalh is married and has 2 children.  He enjoys hiking, biking, and playing tennis and golfing with his family.
