Meet the Medical Anesthesiologists
Dr. Douglas Snider
Dr. Snider is the Medical Director of Renew Oral and Facial Surgical Centre.
He completed his Medical School and Anesthesia Residency training at the University of Alberta in 2004. Dr. Snider also works at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton and Alberta Surgical Centre. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as an active member of the Canadian and American Anesthesia Societies and an assistant professor of Anesthesia at the University of Alberta. Dr. Snider has a wide scope of anesthesia practice including ambulatory, trauma, pediatric, obstetric, thoracic, neurosurgical and general anesthesia.
Dr. Snider is married and has two young daughters.
Dr. David Muzyka
Dr. David Muzyka has been an Anesthesiologist in Edmonton since 1992.
Born and raised in Edmonton, he did his Medical School and Anesthesia Residency at the University of Alberta. Following this he did an Intensive Care Fellowship and worked as an Internist in the University Hospital General Systems Intensive Care Unit until 2002. A Staff Anesthesiologist at the Royal Alexandra Hospital since 1993, he was the Anesthesia Department’s Site Chief from 2002 until 2014. He works as an Anesthesiologist at four Non-Hospital Surgical Facilities in Edmonton and is Anesthesia Director at two of these.
He has been on Anesthesia Staff at Renew since 2007.
Dr. Chiarella was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta.
He attended the University of Alberta and obtained a Bachelor of Sciences degree with specialization in Pharmacology in 1993. This was followed by a Medical Degree, with distinction, in 1998.
From 1998 to 2003, Dr. Chiarella completed his specialty residency at the University of Alberta Hospital with the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2003 and has remained a member in good standing.
Dr. Chiarella is an associate clinical professor with the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Alberta. He works mainly at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, but has also worked at various non-hospital surgical facilities in and around Edmonton; two of which he helped to set-up and served as the medical director.
Dr. Chiarella is a member of the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society, the International Anesthesia Research Society, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
When not working, Dr. Chiarella enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He especially likes family vacations, playing with his children and watching their various sporting and artistic activities.
